What Did I Learn?

During my first semester at Gateway Technical College, I gained valuable skills that have transformed how I approach academics, work, and personal life. Here’s a glimpse into my learning journey:

Time Management

Balancing academic studies, work, and personal responsibilities was one of my biggest challenges. By using tools like Google Calendar and the Pomodoro Technique, I learned to prioritize tasks and stay organized. For example, I scheduled dedicated study blocks and set reminders for assignments, which helped me avoid last-minute stress.

Study Habbits

I discovered the importance of effective study habits. Instead of cramming, I broke my study sessions into manageable chunks using the Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break). This not only improved my retention but also reduced burnout.

Addapting to Online Learning

Transitioning to an online learning environment was initially overwhelming, but Gateway’s student resources made it easier. I learned to navigate online platforms, participate in virtual discussions, and collaborate with classmates remotely. These skills have prepared me for the future of work and learning.
